You are free because of their sacrifices

This morning you woke up and were able to choose from a myriad of newspapers to read that tell you what is happening in our world, what good (and bad) our nation's leaders are up to, what our favorite sports teams did.

After reading the paper you headed off to your job, or maybe you started a new business or you did something else you were free to do. Maybe you wrote a letter to your congressman or senator, or you wrote a letter to the editor of your local paper, or you stood on a street corner telling people about something you feel is wrong with this country.

You were able to do all of those things and more because of a veteran who stood up and fought against an enemy who thinks that our way of living is immoral or unjust or too free. Find a veteran to thank. Buy him or her a coffee or a meal. Ask veterans to tell you about their service or how their families and friends supported them while they supported us. To all of you who gave so much for all of us, thank you!
