Keep tax funds away from Wrigley fixup
It sure didn't take long to come begging, and now the Ricketts family wants the taxpayers, and it will be the taxpayers, to pony up $200 million bucks to renovate Wrigley Field. The money is to be paid back with higher ticket and concession prices.
The Ricketts family paid somewhere around $850 million to buy the Cubs. Maybe if they check under the couch cushions in their homes they can find enough to finance their own remodeling job.
