New candidate enters Naperville council race
Joe McElroy, former vice chairman of Naperville's plan commission and vice president of the Naperville Community Television board of directors, filed his nominating petitions Tuesday to run for city council.
McElroy also ran in 2009, finishing fifth in a field of 13 candidates for four 4-year seats.
Other candidates who have filed to pursue four available 4-year council terms in the spring 2011 election are incumbents Grant Wehrli, Dick Furstenau and Robert Fieseler and newcomers Charlie Schneider and Steve Chirico.
The filing period ends Nov. 22.
