Randy Quaid, wife, miss another court hearing
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Randy Quaid and his wife remain fugitives from a California court after the couple failed to appear for their arraignment on felony vandalism charges for the fourth time.
A judge refused to schedule a new date for the couple, instead leaving their arrest warrants active.
The actor's attorney, Robert Sanger, said Quaid's passport had been confiscated by Canadian authorities, where the pair are seeking asylum.
Randy and Evi Quaid are charged with felony vandalism stemming from a September arrest after they were accused of damaging the guest house of a hillside Santa Barbara home they used to own.
They were arrested last month in a posh neighborhood in Vancouver and are seeking asylum from a group they have described as "Hollywood star-whackers."
