Johnny Cash tribute band in Aurora

Tribute to a legend

The late, great Johnny Cash gets a respectful tribute in the suburbs this weekend when Cash'd Out, a tribute band endorsed by the official Johnny Cash website, rides into the suburbs. The group will touch all aspects of the Man in Black's long and illustrious career.

8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Paramount Arts Centre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora. $29.50. (630) 896-6666 or paramountarts.com.

Solo shows

A couple of suburban-natives-turned-rock-stars, Crystal Lake's Josh Caterer and Zion's Scott Lucas, will give solo performances at Schuba's in Chicago this weekend. Caterer is the crooning lead singer of the Smoking Popes and Duvall, while Lucas helms the bands Local H and Scott Lucas and the Married Men. Both singers emerged from the suburbs in the 1990s and with their bands created some of the most literate and powerful local music of the day.

7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Schuba's Tavern, 3159 N. Southport, Chicago. $10. schubas.com.

Rock with soul

Andre Williams, a legendary Detroit singer, musician and songwriter, will deliver his own gritty brand of soul- and blues-flavored rock 'n' roll when he makes a stop in Chicago. Now in his mid-70s, Williams hasn't slowed down. He'll be singing songs from his 2010 record, “That's All I Need.”

9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Bottom Lounge, 1375 W. Lake St., Chicago. $20. Go to bottomlounge.com.
