The skinny: While the rest of the Big Ten opens up with a collective 19 home games and 1 road affair (Ohio State's win Tuesday at Florida), the Wildcats wrap up their two-game road trip to kick off the season. The Broncs lost at NU by a 53-44 count last Jan. 7 as the Wildcats had “no zest, no life” and trailed for most of the opening 28 minutes. Don't be surprised if NU shows a little more zest and shoots better than 32 percent from the field. Forward John Shurna, who earned the Big Ten's player of the week honor for his 31-point outburst at NIU on Friday, made the Naismith Award's 50-man watch list on Tuesday. He's supposed to be much-improved taking guys off the dribble, but NIU's zone didn't require him to do so.
