Three candidates file for Palatine election

Two incumbents and one non-incumbent were among the first to file Monday morning for Palatine's available village council seats in the potential Feb. 22 primary election.

District 5 Village Council Member Jack Wagner and District 2 Village Council Member Scott Lamerand filed for re-election while resident Colin Kozlowski filed to challenge Wagner for the District 5 seat.

The term of District 3 Village Council Member Jim Clegg is also ending in the spring. Neither Clegg nor any other candidate filed for the District 3 seat as of Monday morning.

The filing period for the Feb. 22 primary ends at 5 p.m. Nov. 22.

A primary election would be triggered if more than four candidates for any available seat filed. The general election, to determine one final winner for each seat, will be held April 5.
