Artists to sell work at Batavia library
The Batavia Artists Guild will present a Fine Art Exhibit and Sale on Nov. 19-21 at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.
The Batavia Artists Guild is a group of local artists who display their art work in various locations in the tri-city area.
Many of the guild's participating artists are award winners and well-known in the area. These 19 artists will have their work on display: Edward C. Cook, Jerry Lake, Kathi Luedemann, Ray Pittman, Rosalie Vass and Pattie Seifrid, of Batavia; Fatima Figueiredo, Gail Fitzsimmons, Joy Smith, and Fran Stilwagner, of Geneva; Tim Burns and Karl Williams, of Aurora; Ann Schuster, Del Webb and Janet Wickham, of St. Charles; Susanne Kroeger of River Forest; and Monica Stanton of Palatine.
The public is welcome to attend the exhibit reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 19. Saturday hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. There is no charge to view the exhibit and refreshments will be served during the Friday night reception. The Batavia library has graciously donated a cake to help celebrate the exhibit.
Artists love to show their work and many will be at the reception ready to discuss their work attendees.
The Batavia Artists Guild has been operating since 1993. The guild currently has 38 members. Artists must jury into the group. The purpose of the Batavia Artists Guild is to foster, create and encourage appreciation of the fine arts and to encourage artistic expression.
