The skinny: In what might be the shortest road trip in college basketball this season, the NAIA Lakers drive 1.87 miles (15 city blocks) to face the Flames in Howard Moore's home debut. UIC has had four days to absorb its season-opening 97-54 loss at No. 4 Pittsburgh, which presumably allowed for lots of rebounding work and other fundamentals. UIC lost the boards by 20 at Pitt, though that's always a Panthers strength. If you're so inclined, show up at 5 p.m. for UIC's women playing Oakland.
