3 cars damaged in Naperville fire

Three cars were damaged by fire late Wednesday night in a downtown Naperville parking lot.

Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said no one was injured in the blaze that started about 10:20 p.m. in a lot at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Washington Street.

Flames started in the engine compartment of a 1991 Cadillac DeVille and the fire spread to a red 2000 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a Mercury station wagon.

Bell said the fire was discovered by a driver of one of the cars, who flagged down a police officer.

Damage estimates were not available.
