Car hits tree in Buffalo Grove

A car hit a tree about 1:45 a.m. Thursday in Buffalo Grove, deploying the car's air bag and sending the driver to the hospital, authorities said Thursday afternoon.

The car struck the tree near Half Day Road and Willow Parkway, Buffalo Grove fire Lt. John Gilleran said. The car sustained significant front-end damage, but the driver was outside the vehicle when emergency response personnel arrived, Gilleran said. The driver was then taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Authorities did not have any more information about the driver's injuries Thursday afternoon.
