Scouting: Wisconsin @ Indiana
No. 6 Wisconsin (8-1, 4-1 Big Ten) at Indiana (4-5, 0-5), 12 p.m. (ESPN2)
Line: Wisconsin by 21½.
Series Record: Wisconsin leads 36-18-2.
Last Meeting: 2009, Wisconsin 31-28.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
Wisconsin continues its quest for its first Rose Bowl appearance since 2000 with tiebreakers currently in its favor. The most important thing is to win the final three games, beginning with Indiana. The Hoosiers need two wins to reach a bowl game for the first time since 2007, but that scenario looks bleak with games following against Penn State and at Purdue.
KEY MATCHUP
Wisconsin's DL vs. Indiana's OL. The Badgers will show a lot of different looks to Indiana's offensive line. If the Hoosiers can't stop Wisconsin DEs J.J. Watt and Louis Nzegwu, then QB Ben Chappell will be scrambling to stay alive rather than looking downfield in his spread attack.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Indiana: DT Tyler Replogle and LB Jeff Thomas. The Hoosiers' two top defenders may not see a whole lot of bruising RB John Clay (knee), but they'll need to keep Montee Ball and James White from breaking free for big gains. Both of Wisconsin's backup RBs are faster than Clay.
Wisconsin: Bill Nagy slides over to center with the injury to Peter Konz (ankle). Wisconsin could've used John Moffitt, who is the starting left guard but has extensive center experience, but will instead rely on a backup lineman in Nagy to make the correct reads and calls at the line. Early confusion may cause Wisconsin's power running attack to sputter.
