Woodland pizza fundraiser
More than $1,000 was raised during a six-week fundraiser for new playground equipment at Gurnee-based Woodland Elementary District 50.
The $1,041 raised from mid-September to about mid-October will be used for recess equipment. The cash will be distributed evenly among Primary, Elementary East, Elementary West and Intermediate schools.
The money was gained through a Domino's Pizza fundraising effort. Eight classrooms were treated to a pizza party from Domino's for placing the most pizza orders.
