United leads in on-time arrivals
CHICAGO — United Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings Inc., today announced that the airline was first in on-time performance for domestic scheduled flights among America's five largest global carriers for September 2010, as measured by the U.S. Department of Transportation and published in the Air Travel Consumer Report released today.
United ended the month with 89.7 percent of flights arriving at their destinations within 14 minutes of the scheduled arrival time, according to monthly data from the report, when comparing United with Delta, Continental, American and US Airways together representing the largest U.S. global carriers by revenue, available seat miles or passengers flown. Continental ended the month with 86.9 percent of its domestic flights arriving at their destinations within 14 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
In addition, United registered strong performance at its five domestic hubs in the month of September for flights arriving on time as measured by the DOT. In fact, domestic United-operated flights arrived on time more than 90 percent of the time at Chicago O'Hare, Denver International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Washington Dulles.
