Why Bill Foster lost
Bill Foster stated in his concession speech that he knew certain votes he made in Congress hurt him in the election but, “They're making the country better and kept us out the depression.”
Mr. Foster, that statement is exactly why you lost. You were a U.S. Representative of the 14th District of Illinois. I take the term “representative” meaning you represent the voters in the 14th District. If the majority of voters were against votes for the stimulus and health care it is your responsibility to make that representation through your vote in Congress.
I know hundreds of people that echoed their concerns and it fell on deaf ears. This is why Washington is broken and the public opinion is at an all-time low for Congress.
Mr. Foster, if you represented your district and not Pelosi, Reid and Obama, you may have kept your seat. I feel confident Mr. Hultgren will not make your mistake.
