Campton Hills man faces child pornography charges
A 37-year-old Campton Hills man is being held on $250,000 bail after his arrest last week on child pornography charges, according to police.
Eric E. Humbracht, of the 49W000 block of Route 64, was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Friday by the Kane County Sheriff's Department and the Illinois Attorney General's office.
Humbracht is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, police said. The most serious count carries a three- to seven-year prison term if he is convicted.
Humbracht is due in court on Nov. 18.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced the arrest of Humbracht late Friday, saying it was part of a statewide crackdown on child pornography and that his computer had more than 220 images, including at least 40 images of children younger than 13.
Campton Hills Police Chief Daniel Hoffman was not available for comment Monday and Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Pat Gengler referred inquiries to Madigan's office.
According to court records, Humbracht was arrested by Elgin police in January 1996 on felony charges of manufacturing and delivery of marijuana. He was sentenced to 100 hours community service, nine days of periodic imprisonment, addiction treatment and two years probation, which he completed satisfactorily.
