Bank robbed in Bensenville
A bank was robbed Saturday morning in Bensenville, local police reported.
The robbery took place about 10:30 a.m. inside the Chase branch at 133 W. Grand Ave. According to police, a lone man entered the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding money from the teller's drawer.
The teller complied, giving him an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then walked out of the bank, got into a tan or silver Chevy Impala and drove off, police said.
Bank employees described the man as 25 to 30 years old, standing between 5-feet, 9-inches and 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighing 190 to 210 pounds. He was unshaven and wore a dark knit cap with a Chicago Blackhawks emblem on it, sunglasses and a dark jacket, police said.
Bensenville police are investigating the robbery with the FBI and the Illinois State Police. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Bensenville police at (630) 350-3455.
