Obama announces Boeing order in India
SEATTLE -- President Barack Obama had some good news for Boeing Co. during his trip to India.
Obama announced a series of commercial deals on Friday, including the purchase of 33 Boeing 737s by India's SpiceJet Airlines. He also announced a preliminary agreement between Boeing and the Indian Air Force to buy 10 C17 cargo jets.
Depending upon the model, the 737 deal could be worth $1.7 billion to $2.9 billion. That's based on list prices, but airlines commonly negotiate discounts.
