Democrats should pay attention to 'shellacking'
The election tsunami arrived as predicted and it was massive. About 70 US Congressional seats in the House and Senate changed hands across the nation and Republicans captured about 67 out of the 70. That means that Republicans won 95 percent of those conversions! The Republicans also cleaned up in governorships and state houses across the nation.
This was the biggest rejection of a party in power since 1938. As President Obama said, the Democrats got a “shellacking”. Gosh what a surprise. For 12 months or more all public opinion polls said that a majority of Americans disagreed with the radically liberal policies of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. A majority wanted to appeal Obama Care, a vast majority felt that our nation was headed in the wrong direction, a vast majority felt that the huge budget deficit would bankrupt our children, and on and on.
The voters tried to warn the Democrats by voting Republican in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Virginia in January, but the Democrats didn't listen. So voters across the nation fired a ton of Democrats in this election because they refused to listen. Those Democrats got fired for arrogance and hubris. The voters want less government spending, to repeal and replace Obama Care, no cap and trade, no card check, lower taxes, and a smaller government. The next election is in 2012. The question is, are the Democrats listening to us now? If not, there is another “shellacking” coming in 2012.
