Two convicted in Aurora attack
Two Aurora residents have been convicted by a jury of beating and stabbing a man outside an Aurora store in July.
Bridget A. Ivanov, 38, and Sean R. Parker, 42, were each convicted Wednesday on one count of armed violence, a Class X felony.
The last known address for Ivanov and Parker was the Hesed House homeless shelter at 659 S. River St., Aurora.
Sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 3 by Kane County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Mueller. They could be sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison.
Around 11 p.m. July 3, Ivanov and Parker pulled a man out of his SUV at Galena Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue and started beating him. The victim got back in his SUV and drove across the street to a store to get help. As he tried to enter the store, Parker began to fight with him, knocking him to the ground, and Ivanov stabbed him several times in the back and abdomen.
Store employees saw the attack. Police found Ivanov and Parker nearby, with the victim's blood on their clothing.
The victim did not know Parker or Ivanov.
Bail was set at $750,000 for Ivanov and $1 million for Parker, and both have been in the Kane County jail since their arrests. Bail was revoked when they were convicted.
The two initially were charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery. They were indicted by a grand jury Aug. 18 on those charges plus the armed violence charges.
