Metra train hits, kills pedestrian in Kenilworth
A pedestrian was killed Friday after being hit by a Metra train near Kenilworth.
The person died around 4:45 p.m. after being struck by Union Pacific North-Line Train 335 headed toward Kenosha, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.
Kenilworth Police were unable to provide any details about the accident. The identity of the victim remains unknown.
The train left Chicago's Ogilvie Transportation Center around 4:15 p.m. and was delayed for about 90 minutes after the incident, Miller said. Several other trains were also delayed for a few hours.
