Hanover Park gets grant for Astor project
The village of Hanover Park has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the reconstruction of Astor Avenue between Narcissus and Briarwood avenues.
The funding will help offset the $350,000 cost of the total project, which was completed recently. In addition to the reconstruction of the street, crews installed off-street parking stalls, a new storm sewer and water main, and LED streetlights.
Work was funded primarily through the village's motor fuel tax fund.
