We need rules on political ads

I, and I'm sure many more readers, are forever thankful that this election is over. I am so sick and tired of the lies, falsehoods, misrepresentations and whatever other adjectives you can think of for political ads.

We all know that the TV stations, radio stations, and newspapers reap millions of dollars in ad fees charged to the people running for office. Don't you think that some semblance of truth should be included in them?

Maybe we should try and get one of these candidates to submit a bill in Congress that requires them to prove at least 50 percent of what they want aired to be the truth! And maybe we should include a rule that states that at least 50 percent of the aired ad be about their own accomplishments! Attack ads should not be allowed.

I'm not holding my breath for this to pass.
