New on DVD: Cher collection

“Cher: The Film Collection”

Cher's fans have followed her colorful career over the last four decades. She became a star with ex-husband Sonny Bono, both in music and on television. As a solo artist, Cher has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and still performs live. What surprised some, however, was her acting ability, which even won her an Oscar in 1988 for “Moonstruck.”

We all have our favorites among Cher's films, and this collection has something for everyone. The six films are: “Moonstruck,” “Silkwood,” “Mermaids,” “Tea With Mussolini,” “Good Times” and “Chasity.”

“Frank Sinatra: Concert Collection”

This seven-disc collection is the finest set ever assembled on the live performances of Frank Sinatra. It includes more than 14 hours of concerts and television specials along with a 44-page book. The shows sound and look great, and four of them were previously unreleased. You will enjoy all of Sinatra's hits, which have a way of bringing you back in time.

The collection includes: “A Man And His Music Part 1 & 2,” “Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back,” “The Main Event,” “In Concert At Royal Festival Hall,” “Sinatra in Japan,” “Francis Albert Sinatra,” “Sinatra And Friends,” “Concert For The Americas,” “Happy Holidays with Bing” and more.

“The Bing Crosby Collection”

Bing Crosby usually sang in his films, and the six films featured here show Bing early in his career. They are lesser-known films that he made between 1933 and 1948: “College Humor,” with George Burns and Gracie Allen, “We're Not Dressing” with Ray Milland and Carole Lombard, “Here In My Heart” with Kitty Carlisle, “Mississippi” with W.C. Fields, “Sing You Sinners” with Donald O'Conner and Fred MacMurray and “Welcome Stranger” with Barry Fitzgerald.

“The Larry Sanders Show: The Complete Series”

People have waited for years for this great series to be available on DVD, and now you can own all 89 episodes, along with bonus features and a 56-page booklet. Garry Shandling was terrific as the caustic late night talk show host who made everything seem real. His ensemble cast was wonderful, and it included sidekick Jeffrey Tambor, foul-mouthed producer Rip Torn, secretary Penny Johnson, talent coordinator Janeane Garofalo, writer Jeremy Piven and assistant Scott Thompson. Larry's celebrity guests included Carol Burnett, Jerry Seinfeld, Roseanne Barr, Sharon Stone, Alec Baldwin and many others.
