Rededication Ceremony Planned for the Riverwalk and Millennium Wall

WHAT:

Mayor A. George Pradel and representatives from the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, Naperville Riverwalk Foundation, Celebration 2000 Partnership and the Riverwalk Commission will join together to rededicate Segment 2 of the Riverwalk Phase I Rehabilitation Project and the Millennium Wall.

Segment Two improvements between Webster Street and Eagle Street include a new bulkhead wall, a wider bulkhead walkway, lower concrete walkway stairway access, pathway accessibility improvements, a redesign of the youth plaza, new landscaping, sidewalk and lighting replacement. As the trees behind the Millennium Wall were removed as part of the project, engineers discovered severe foundation instability requiring immediate correction. As a result, the Millennium Wall has been completely rebuilt using appropriate construction technologies and plaques will be installed in honor of those who donated to the original wall.

Naperville Riverwalk Amphitheater, located at Jackson Avenue and Eagle Street. Parking is available on Jackson Avenue and at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400. S. Eagle St.
