Algonquin bonfire ends in neighborhood fight

A Halloween bonfire party in Algonquin turned violent after several partygoers urinated in a neighbor's yard, police said.

Kane County Sheriff's deputies responded at 1:03 a.m. Sunday to a report of a fight in progress on the 1500 block of Winaki Trail.

According to a police report, a man who lives on the block told police a fight broke out after he told several partygoers at a neighbor's bonfire to use a portable toilet provided at the party rather than urinate in his yard.

During the fight that resulted, the man hit a partygoer over the head with a golf club, while several partygoers beat him with sticks, police said.

No one would sign complaints and no charges were filed.
