Two liberal claims that need debunking
There is no such thing as the “trickle down effect.” Much like the “squeal law” that was a “misinterpretation” by the liberal news media. Did they do it on purpose? Gee, I wonder.
What President Reagan wanted was for the people to decide where they could spend their own money. If you wanted a car, house or TV set it was to be your decision. What he decried was the government taking it from someone so they wouldn't spend it so frivolously. The government bureaucrats could take it and spend it in vital places like Iraq or Afghanistan, or on something important like the study of why mosquitoes bite more in the dark than the light.
The liberals claimed that Reagan and the Republicans favored big business, but that was bogus. Reagan felt that the individual was far better equipped to spend his own money than some bureaucrat in Washington, and by the results of the 1984 election he appears to have been vindicated.
The term “squeal law” was again created by the liberals to explain why a child under 17 didn't need parental notification to get an abortion but any other minor surgical procedure such as a tonsillectomy or hang nail removal required parental consent. Woe be the physician who performs a hang nail removal without the parent's signature. He could be charged with assault.
