Naperville residents charged in drug scheme

Two Naperville residents are facing drug charges following a brief investigation by police.

Adam O. Henry, 20, of 4704 Thatcher Drive, and Haley A. Neal, 19, of 1415 Grommon Road, were arrested Oct. 29 after a brief altercation with police, authorities said.

Police said they were tipped off to the operation by “concerned residents.”

On their way to serve arrest warrants Oct. 29, the pair were spotted in a vehicle near 95th Street and Reflection Drive, police said. Officers initiated a traffic stop and attempted to arrest the pair, but Henry pulled out a knife with a 9-inch blade and “displayed it in a threatening manner,” Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Officers were able to subdue Henry and no one was injured in the brief fracas. Neal was taken into custody without incident, Bell said.

Police served a search warrant at Henry's house later that day, Bell said.

A search of Henry's residence resulted in police seizing a half pound of marijuana, drug-packaging equipment, Xanax pills, another knife, a laptop computer and $1,906 in cash. Police also seized a pickup truck they believe was used during drug transactions.

Henry is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of cannabis. He is being held at the Will County jail in Joliet in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

Neal is charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and delivery of cannabis. She posted 10 percent of a $7,500 bond and was released, law enforcement officials said.

Both are scheduled to be back in court Nov. 22.
