Naperville man faces burglary charges

An 18-year-old Naperville man was arrested for breaking into a convenience store and stealing cigarettes early Sunday morning.

Justin Mau, of the 400 block of Tupelo Drive, was apprehended following the 5 a.m. robbery of the Convenient Food Mart at 501 W. 87th St., Naperville Sgt. Gregg Bell said.

Bell said police responded to an activated burglar alarm at the store, where officers found a broken window and cigarettes lying just outside the store. He said officers checked the surrounding area and located Mau walking nearby.

He was interviewed and found to have several cartons of cigarettes stolen from the Convenient Food Mart, Bell said.

He was arrested and transported to the Naperville Police Department, where he also was charged with an Oct. 10 burglary at the same store, Bell said.

In that case, a window was broken and several cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

Mau has been charged with two counts of burglary and was taken to Will County jail.
