Hemmert a Famer
“Aunt Terri,” adult-alternative WXRT 93.1-FM disc jockey Terri Hemmert, leads the local inductees into the Museum of Broadcast Communications' Radio Hall of Fame this year. Other inductees include Ralph Emery, Cathy Hughes, Carl Kasell and Sun Records producer Sam Phillips. ... The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences gives out its annual local Emmy Awards at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Park West, 322 W. Start of the holidaze
With Halloween over, the CW is wasting no time getting in the holiday spirit, as “Smallville” presents a new Thanksgiving episode at 7 p.m. Friday on WGN Channel 9. It finds General and Lucy Lane giving Clark and Lois a turkey-day surprise visit. And with that can “It's a Wonderful Life” be far behind?
The end of Batman?
“Batman Forever,” a New Yorker critic once wrote, is not a movie title; it's a threat. Joel Schumacher all but destroyed the franchise, and would have with the following “Batman & Robin” if Chris Nolan hadn't revived it a decade later. Val Kilmer steps into the detailed bodysuit, this time alongside Chris O'Donnell's Robin. Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones are the villains, and Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore are along for the ride as well. “Batman Forever” is so bad, it tests even a Waste Watcher's tolerance for trash. It's at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, on WTTW Channel 11.
