Hair Salon open in Geneva

Hair stylist Mary Finkler dreamed about one day having her own shop. After years of working and teaching cosmetology at beauty salons in the area, Finkler's dream will come true Nov. 6 with the opening of Split Ends Salon.

A grand opening takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. on that day. Finkler, a longtime resident of Saint Charles, says her shop will offer all the same services her past clients expect plus a few surprises, among them full nail services, facials, and soon it will offer a variety of massages. Split Ends Salon is located at 27 N. Second St. in Geneva, in the former Act 1 hair salon.

“I always felt that going to a salon should feel like visiting friends comfortable and familiar. I want my salon to be that place,” said Finkler, who has spent the last few months remolding Split Ends Salon to achieve just that feel.

The shop will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
