Police standoff ends peacefully in Delavan

DELAVAN, Wis. — A standoff with police at a home in Delavan has ended with no serious injuries.

The Janesville Gazette reports that police responded to a report of shots fired at 1:30 a.m. Sunday and saw three suspects enter a three-unit residence. They wouldn't come out.

Police Chief Tim O'Neill says SWAT teams from Walworth and Rock counties and the city of Milwaukee, as well as officers from Darien and Delavan were called in.

Three men between 25 and 32 years old are now in custody and are being questioned, but they haven't been formally arrested.

O'Neill says police believe the incident was gang-related retaliation for a past incident. Police are looking for weapons but haven't found any.
