Uriah Heep to play Durty Nellie's
Uriah Heep (yes, that Uriah Heep) will draw on more than 40 years of headbanging history when it hits the suburbs this weekend. Uriah Heep got started in England in the late 1960s, and quickly won legions of fans in Europe and the U.S. with its thundering hard-rock sound. Multiple lineup changes over the years have resulted in shifts in style, from theatrical, progressive rock to straight-ahead heavy metal. The current lineup includes original guitarist Mick Box.
7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. $20. (Uriah Heep plays the first set of the night.) Go to durtynellies.com.

Veteran rockers Los Lobos are touring behind their latest record, “Tin Can Trust,” released earlier this year. The album displays all the classic Los Lobos trademarks: soulful vocals, intricate melodies and that unique blend of Latin sounds with traditional rock music. This is a band fans should see live.
