Iowa's Prater named Big Ten player of week
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa cornerback Shaun Prater is the Big Ten's defensive player of the week following his efforts in a win over Michigan State.
Prater recorded a career-high 10 tackles and returned an interception 42 yards to set up a Hawkeyes touchdown in a 37-6 victory on Saturday.
It's the first Big Ten player of the week honor for Prater, a junior from Omaha, Neb.
Prater is the fifth Iowa player to earn weekly honors from the league this season, joining Paki O'Meara, Mike Daniels, Adrian Clayborn and Ricky Stanzi.
The Hawkeyes, who moved up to 15th in The Associated Press poll this week, face Indiana on Saturday.
