BG can't survive two more years of Stone

To borrow a phrase, “What are you thinking?”

Your editorial of October 24th lists at least eight reasons for the voters of Buffalo Grove to oust Lisa Stone at the November 2nd election. As you stated, Stone is impossibly hard to deal with, her style is counterproductive, she is obsessively confrontational, she wrongly and unfairly assigns ill motives to those who disagree with her, she fails to follow rules of decorum (she has stated that she will break any rule she does not like), can't move on when a conclusion has been reached, and, yes, the village meetings in Buffalo Grove have become a soap opera.

What has Stone accomplished? She has established that she is a bully and intends to dominate every meeting until the other trustees bow to her wishes. She has become a real diva, obsessed with her own importance in the Village. Many other citizens are concerned with the environment, as she claims she is, but let's stop flogging a dead horse (the landfill issue) and get on with the future.

No, I do not think Buffalo Grove can survive two more years of Stone's “stand-up routine.” Why waste more time? She has had her year and a half of fame! By attending public meetings of other organizations Lisa could learn appropriate ways to introduce issues and exhibit respect for the officials in charge.
