Stone has helped Buffalo Grove

Does Buffalo Grove care that three times since 2000 water from underground wells was used in our reservoirs? Don't we want an IPEA Public Hearing to assess the landfill? Were we aware that Comcast planned to charge Buffalo Grove $36,000 for services in Columbian Gardens which were already included in our Comcast contracts?

Aren't we glad that the BG Days cash (over $100,000 at times) is managed with two signatures and deposited daily at the bank when previously, it was sometimes kept in locked drawers at the village office? Wasn't it time that Buffalo Grove formed a Drug Initiative with Stevenson and Buffalo Grove High Schools?

These are a few controversial issues that Lisa Stone presented and pursued at board meetings. How did our trustees and village move from looking at issues like these to demonizing her? There is enough blame on all sides for being defensive, demeaning, rude, insulting, closed minded, and cantankerous. I would like to see the dedicated and hard-working members of the board welcome new ideas without being so critical. In government there are many heated debates, tempers lost and, mean things said. Ted Kennedy was notorious for rantings in Congress. He was never recalled for his behavior. No matter what Stone has done at meetings, she has done nothing that compares to a member of Congress calling the president of the United States a liar. This was not Rep.Joe Wilson's first outburst. He wasn't recalled.

I suggest that we not recall Lisa Nov. 2. Instead, we should ask our Board to resolve to work together, provide more transparency, less posturing and more commitment to respecting one another. Please vote to keep a voice that continues to bring us information that previously was unavailable or undisclosed. Vote no to recalling Lisa Stone.
