We need more lawmakers like May

In my mailbox over the past two weeks, I have received multiple slick fliers from the Illinois Republican Party. They smear a hardworking, ethical, informed incumbent, state Rep. Karen May.

I cannot count the number of thoughtful and informative e-mails I have received from Rep. May over the course of past legislative sessions where she discussed in detail the issues then being debated in Springfield and where she displayed a true passion about and understanding of those issues. Rep. May's opponent, in contrast, sends out mailings where she does not take stands on issues, but rather wastes time and money spreading rumors and not disclosing the full story.

We need leaders in Springfield like Rep. May.
