Teen found in trunk during drug arrest

Nicholas S. Judd, 22, of the 2900 block of Starling Lane in Rolling Meadows, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession with the intent to deliver following an Oct. 22 traffic stop on Meadow Drive near Hawk Lane, Rolling Meadows police said.

Five other people were in the car at the time, including a 17-year-old Rolling Meadows boy who was in the trunk, but reports do not indicate they were arrested.

Police discovered the teen after an officer called for a police dog to check the car, according to reports. The dog was called, police said, because the officer smelled burned cannabis in the car.

Also found in the trunk was a canvas bag with an unspecified amount of marijuana, a pocket scale and $30 in cash, according to a police report. The car was impounded, reports state.

Rolling Meadows Police Chief David Scanlan declined to answer questions about the incident.
