Stumped by Herald's endorsements

The Daily Herald must keep a template for this time in the election cycle. The DuPage endorsements always pick the incumbents, giving acknowledgement that the challengers are qualified and sincere but experience counts. I seem to remember when the county faced layoffs in the public safety office due to a deficit. which was saved due to a sales tax increase out of Springfield. Weren't these incumbents running the show then?

I'm stumped by your endorsement process. I'd like to see the first Daily Herald endorsement of that well-known bread truck driver, Pate Philip. He must have had remarkable qualifications to earn it.
