Bond understands public service

Too often during the election season the focus shifts to charges and counter charges and we lose sight of what we should most expect from the people we elect to serve us-constituent services.

I am supporting Michael Bond for reelection to the Illinois senate because, as a veteran of 37 years, when I encountered problems with my VA disability claim his office got involved and helped me get past some of the bureaucratic red tape to address my issue.

No one asked me if I was a supporter, or even if I was registered to vote.

I had an issue, I live in his district and he helped me.

That's what being a “public servant” should be about.
