Kurtz for county board

Courage, integrity and persistence are a good start for anyone aspiring to public office. As an McHenry County College trustee, Donna Kurtz had the courage to vote against construction of a baseball stadium for a private baseball team. By her denial, Donna saved taxpayers from a monumental financial failure. McHenry County doesn't need a baseball team when there are ample activities available through the schools, park districts, health clubs, and golf courses.

Donna also has a background in finance. This doesn't mean she knows all the answers to money problems, but she'll know the right questions to ask, and won't be shy in asking them.

The “state of the state” report shows Illinois as No. 1 in the number of local governments that spend your money and 38th in education performance. Is there a message here?
