City Launches Pilot Municipal Volunteer Program

More than 20 Volunteers Now Greeting Municipal Center Visitors

The City of Naperville is proud to announce the successful launch of its pilot Municipal Volunteer Program (MVP). Since the beginning of October, this exciting program has introduced more than 20 caring, committed Naperville residents to the community as Municipal Center front desk greeters.

“We have several new smiling faces at city hall, and I'm so proud of these wonderful new volunteers!” Mayor A. George Pradel said. “We are thrilled to add these residents to our city family as part of the Municipal Volunteer Program. We're so glad they're here, because their friendly smiles and warm greetings help make coming into the Municipal Center an even friendlier experience for visitors.”

Through the MVP, volunteers are stationed in the Municipal Center lobby from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday during three daily shifts. This diverse group of volunteers greets visitors, responds to general inquiries and questions and directs visitors to offices within city hall. The city is also proud to be partnering with Indian Prairie School District 204 to include the Supported Training Experiences Post Secondary (S.T.E.P.S.) program students in the MVP.

The pilot MVP will be evaluated after six months to determine whether it should expand to other city departments and buildings.
