Kane County District 9: Mitchell

Democrat Chris Faber presents a tough challenge for Republican incumbent Jim Mitchell.

Both candidates are excellent communicators and have a working knowledge of all major issues facing the county. Both offer legitimate solutions to consider for those issues.

We really like Faber and believe he'd be a great county board member.

Mitchell, though, already is a great county board member. He's proven he'll be the champion for helping the meek get their concerns heard, and he has a historical knowledge of county problems and decisions that surpasses all but a few county leaders.

Mitchell, who diligently led the way for a new ethics policy, has said this will be his final term if re-elected.

Voters should take comfort knowing that Faber is waiting in the wings.
