Bring food to District 116 conferences

Round Lake Area Unit District 116 is trying to help the community during parent-teacher conferences from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday.

That's when parents will be asked to bring in nonperishable items for a food drive being held for a food pantry. Buses will be parked outside of each District 116 school as a way to encourage donations from families to the People Lending Assistance Network on Nicole Drive in Round Lake Beach.

The buses will bring the food from the schools to the pantry after the parent-teacher conferences.
