Two charged in Hanover Park armed robbery
Two men were arrested in connection to a Hanover Park armed robbery at a PL$ Loan Store that occurred last week, according to police.
Dierdrick Steffon Gillon, 18, of the 1200 block of South Troy Street in Chicago and Tirish Shepard, 32, of the 500 block of Thornhill Drive in Carol Stream were arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated robbery, according to Hanover Park police.
Police responded to the report of an armed robbery at the PL$ Loan Sore at 7300 Barrington Road in Hanover Park on the morning of Oct. 11.
An Oakbrook Terrace Police officer spotted Gillon in Oakbrook Terrace on Friday after recognizing his photo, which was captured on a surveillance camera in the shop and distributed to area police departments, according to police.
Gillon admitted to the crime after being questioned, according to police. Investigators were able to determine that a second suspect was involved in the robbery during the questioning and located Shepard shortly after, according to police.
The two will be transported to a bond hearing Monday in Rolling Meadows, according to police.
