‘Local' rock 'n' roll

Scott Lucas emerged from the suburbs of Lake County and formed one of the Chicago area's most acclaimed rock acts, Local H. With help from original bandmate Joe Daniels and current one Brian St. Clair, Lucas has amassed a devoted following for his smart, tough songs and energetic live shows. Local H plays on their home turf this weekend to celebrate “Local H's Awesome Mix Tape #1, an EP of covers that includes songs originally performed by Pink Floyd and the Jesus Lizard.

Eclectic ‘Beach' songs

Gorillaz, a unique musical project spearheaded by British rocker Damon Albarn and cartoonist Jamie Hewlett, released the eclectic, challenging and truly excellent album “Plastic Beach this year, and now the group hits Chicago. Gorillaz shows are known to be mind-blowing, so this might be one to catch.
