Can't change state as a Democrat

Last year, Michelle Mussman knocked on my door seeking signatures for her Democratic petition to run for the 56th District State Representative seat. She was pleasant and nice.

I asked what she was running for and she replied that she was for not raising taxes and controlling spending. I then asked her if she supported those causes, why not a Republican or a Libertarian? She didn't have much of an answer besides it was the party that her father voted for.

As I traveled around the neighborhood this weekend and looked at the Mussman yard signs on the lawns, I noticed that nowhere on the sign is a mention of what party Mussman is affiliated with. I checked her website main page, no mention of party affiliation.

Her opponent, Ryan Higgins, on both his signs and website, indicate that he is a Republican. If victorious in November, I'm sure House Speaker Madigan will remind Mussman at every vote that she is a Democrat. Michelle, if you want to change our state government, you can't do it as a Democrat.
