No one injured in Elgin car fire
Elgin fire officials said no one was injured during a car fire in the 100 block of N. Spring Street early Thursday.
Officials said they were sent to the scene at about 7:55 a.m. where a van was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters had the fire out in about 15 minutes, officials said, adding that no one was injured in the blaze.
He said heavy smoke accompanied the blaze, but no other buildings in the area including St. John's Elementary School were evacuated.
Firefighters remain on the scene investigating the cause.
