Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Des Plaines

A motorcyclist in his 20s was seriously injured in Des Plaines Thursday afternoon when he struck a guard rail, authorities said.

The man, whose name police did not release, was riding in the parking lot of Oakton Community College, 1600 East Golf Road in Des Plaines, about 2 p.m. Thursday when the accident occurred.

He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for what Des Plaines fire officials said were “serious injuries. Police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
