Metropolis hosting fundraising run in Arlington Heights

The Metropolis 5/10K Run/Walk through dowtown Arlington Heights will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Highland and Campbell streets. Proceeds from the event will benefit Metropolis School of the Performing Arts and Outreach programs.

Register at signmeup.com, at the Metropolis Box Office, or at Runners High ‘n' Tri, 121 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights. Preregistration is $25, day of registration is $30. All runners and walkers will receive a T-shirt and other items. Packet pickup will be held at Runners High ‘n' Tri, Wednesday through Friday. Free parking is available in the Vail Street Garage on the day of the race. Gear check will be available at registration tables. Awards for top runners will be presented immediately following races.

Metropolis outreach programs have brought the arts to the lives of over 15,000 children, hospice patients and those with special needs in 94 different organizations across the area.
